Waitrose Pure Skin Care Range

Waitrose have just launched a new affordable skin care range. The Waitrose Pure range is made from 98% natural ingredients, is for sensitive skin and is fragrance free. Each product in the range is priced at £2.99 but is currently on an introductory offer at £1.99 each (ends on 1.4.14).

The range includes; facial wipes, face cream, eye make-up remover, hand cream, cleansing wash, eye gel, beauty balm, facial oil and face polish.

I picked up three of the products to try out. I have sensitive skin so anything natural and fragrance free is always worth giving a go.

Firstly the facial oil, it comes in 30ml size. This product is made from 98% natural ingredients. Being a fragrance free product it doesn't have a scent. The facial oil is easily absorbed into the skin. Simply warm a few drops of the oil in the palms of your hands and rub over your cleansed face and neck.

Made with sweet almond oil and vitamin E it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. The product feels light on the skin and is suitable for all skin types. I have combination skin and it has helped to even out my skin.

The next product I picked up was the beauty balm 50ml. This made from 99% natural ingredients. The beauty balm is made from shea butter and coconut, it leaves your skin feeling nourished and hydrated. The balm is quite a thick consistency, so gives intense moisturising.

The balm is quite hard in the tub but once you've scooped some out it starts to melt onto your skin. The balm can be used on all dry areas including elbows, cuticles, lips and heels. Again like the facial oil it has no smell so can be applied liberally.

Finally the face polish 75ml. This product is 100% natural so is great for your skin. Its made from shea butter and coconut oil like the beauty balm. The polish is a different texture then I was expecting. It feels like a smooth balm with small exfoliating particles in it.

Similar to the beauty balm when it comes in contact with the skin its starts to melt and become more workable. Use the polish weekly on damp skin and it will help to remove all dead skin cells which may be sitting on your skin. The polish leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed, and prepped for cleansing and moisturising.

Overall I think this range is great for everyday use. The natural ingredients mean that your skin isn't coming into too much contact with chemicals which is always a good thing. For the price the products are defiantly great value for money and well worth buying.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Collection

Beauty Blogger and YouTube personality Tanya Burr launched her own Lip Gloss and Nail Collection at the end of January. I have been a fan of both her blog and YouTube channel for a while now so I was pretty excited to give these products a go.

The collection has 12 lip glosses in total 6 shimmery glosses and 6 creamy glosses. All the names were chosen by Tanya Burr herself and have a personal connection to her.

A wide range of colours is available all of which are easily wearable shades. I chose 2 for the collection to try out.

I picked these shades 'Vampire Kiss' and 'Picnic In The Park' as they looked like they'd suit my pale skin tone best. I also went for the creamy finish ones rather then the shimmer as I wanted to mainly wear them in the day.

I have worn these glosses a lot, they leave your lips feeling sort and silky with no stickiness. They are highly pigmented so you don't have to use a lipstick underneath to ensure a bold colour. The glosses also have a lovely taste and smell of strawberries and cream, which was a nice surprise when I first applied the gloss.

The glosses are available for purchase from Feel Unique, Superdrug, Cloud 10 Beauty and Pom.

NYX Cosmetics Review

I have heard a lot of great things about NYX Cosmetics through other blogs and I really wanted to get my hands on some. In England you can buy NYX products easily online or in selected Next stores. I decided to visit my local Next store so that I could see the range of colours available.

NYX Cosmetics has a large range of make-up products available as well as other items including tools which are ideal for make-up artists including artist chairs and travel cases.

I have chosen two products to review which I think are make-up bag staples.

I picked the Dewy Finish Make-up Setting Spray and the Rose Garden Powder Blush.

The NYX powder blush is the item I was most excited to try from the collection. I picked the colour Rose Garden, it's a lovely fresh pink which is perfect for a Spring make-up look.

The blush has a soft gold shimmer which gives your cheeks a healthy glow.

The blush has a soft, light consistency and is highly pigmented so a little goes a long way. It feels light on the skin and last a long time. The size of the blush pot is ideal as its small and compact so doesn't take up much room in your make-up bag.

Priced at only £6.00 the blush is great value for money and the quality defiantly compares well against top brands.

I haven't tried a make-up setting spray before but I have been meaning to pick one up for a while. Priced at only £8.00 I thought this one was a good product to start with. The bottle is a handy 60ml size so isn't too bulky in your make-up bag.

Holding the spray about 30cm away from the face gives you a light, even coverage of the product. When sprayed the product feels light and refreshing. It doesn't have any distinctive scent which is great because I am not keen on scented make-up products. The spray doesn't feel sticky on the skin at all and is hardly noticeable.

The spray keeps your make-up in place all day so it's ideal if you are out and about all day and don't have time to do touch ups. Defiantly a product worth having in your make-up bag.

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush Review

Over the past few weeks I have read a lot about electric facial cleansing brushes. Particularly the Clarisonic, unfortunately this brush is on the rather high end of the market priced between £179 and £115. As I wasn't sure how my skin would respond to the use of the facial brush I didn't want to splash out. I did a fair bit of research on cheaper alternatives and decided to go for the No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush. Priced at only £24.95 it seemed like a great bargain.

I spent a while talking to the lovely ladies on the No7 counter and they gave me some great advice on what cleansers would work best with the device and for my skin type. I ended up purchasing the Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush, the replacement heads and the Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm for Dry to Very Dry Skin. There is currently a 3 for 2 offer on all No7 products so the replacement heads actually came through for free!

The brush runs off two AA batteries which are provided. The brush is lightweight and fits comfortably in your hand.

The brush has two speeds which are controlled simply through a central button.

I have used the brush about 5 times now, once every other day and I can see great results already. My skin looks fresher and glowing. The brush gently removes all the unnecessary particles and dead skin off your face. I suffer from patches of dry skin and using the brush, with the dry skin cleanser has almost eradicated these dry skin patches.

Using the brush is very simple. All you need to do is remove all makeup or moisturisers from skin, before applying a layer of cleanser to your face. You want it to be a thin, yet visible layer across your whole face (don't rub the cleanser in). Wet the head of the brush with warm water. Turn on and move all over the skin. I work in circular motions to make the most of the brush rotation. The brush will work with your cleanser to get deep into your pores. Focus problem areas to make the most of your cleansing treatment (I focus on my chin as I have a lot of dry skin here). You only need use the brush for a couple of minutes and your skin will start to feel fresh and revitalised. Once you've finished with the brush get a warm/hot water soaked facial clothes and wipe off the excess cleanser. This feels lovely so I repeat a few times. Dry off your face and then finish off with your usual moisturiser. I saw results from my first use and with continued use I'm sure my skin will improve further.

I would defiantly recommend giving this brush a try if you are looking to purchase an electric facial brush. Its a great brush and I don't think the extra £100 is worth spending with this being such good quality.
